The 2017 Northern Metropolitan Zone Championships are run and won.
NRCLAC were well represented by 152 athletes. We had some great results over the two days. Thank you for giving it your best and doing it with a smile. Congratulations to our Junior Girls' Relay team (Carys, Chloe, Hayley, and Jasmine) winning second place, and our Junior Boys' Relay (Ben, Finn, Lachie, and Jacob) winning gold, which are our best results for a number of years. Thank you to Annika and Mick for coaching them. Congratulations to Zone record breakers, CJ Nilon in the 9B 700M Walk, and Benjamin Woodhouse in the 9B 800M. Fantastic work. Well done. A special thank you to our Multi-Class athletes who were able to compete at Zone for the first year ever: Jonathan, Emily, Joel, Harrison, Ben, Keira, Angelina, and Loki. Hopefully we can do it again next season with even more athletes. Thank you to the 117 parents who did their helper duties. I know some of you got stuck out there longer than expected. Thank you to Janet and Natasha who got allocated the longest shifts because they're too nice to say no. Thank you to the NRCLAC Officials who helped run the carnival. It couldn't happen without your contributions: Jenny, Les, Ben W, Adam, Greg, Rohan, Nigel, John, Ben J, Clint, Sankaran, Pia, Chelsea, and Bernard. You may have been roped into more than you were expecting. Special mention to golden tonsils Garry on the PA. Great job all weekend. Thank you to Amanda For taking photos all weekend. Thank you to Adam P for helping manipulate data for our nominations. Thank you to Committee members and families, particularly Ben and Drew, who helped set up and pack up our area. We had the most tents and looked the most organised. And most of all, thank you to NRCLAC Team Managers, Annika and Carwyn. There's so much work that goes into organising nominations, selecting the team, organising parent duties, checking uniforms, marshalling during the day, being the first to arrive and the last to leave. Thank you. Legends ; )
