North Rocks Carlingford Little Athletics Centre (NRCLAC) hosts track and field athletics competitions on Saturday mornings between September and March for children aged 4 to 19 at Kingsdene Oval, Carlingford.

All athletes, regardless of ability, are encouraged to compete, improve personal performance, keep fit, and have fun.

NRCLAC Committee, Officials, and Coaches are volunteers, who have, or have had children competing at the club. Our athletes' families are encouraged to be involved with our community and help make a contribution to our successful club.

HISTORY

Little Athletics was started in Geelong, Victoria, in 1964, by Mr Trevor Billingham, who recognised the need for a track and field athletics competition for children who were too young to compete in senior athletics. Little Athletics expanded throughout Australia, with competition commencing in NSW in 1970 with 1,500 athletes.

In 2024, Little Athletics NSW joined in an historic partnership with Athletics NSW to form the NSW Athletics partnership, providing a more streamlined approach and single competition pathways for athletics in NSW.  NSW Athletics has almost 50,000 registered athletes, from 219 clubs.

NSW clubs are distributed throughout 24 Zones in 5 Regions.
NRCLAC is part of the Northern Metropolitan Zone, which also includes Cherrybrook, Northern Suburbs, Parramatta, and Ryde. Our Zone pairs with the North East Metropolitan Zone to make up Region 5, under the Little Athletics Association of New South Wales.

North Rocks Carlingford Little Athletics Centre  was established in 1981, with the first day of competition held on Saturday 3rd October with approximately 300 athletes. Whilst NRCLAC is one of the bigger clubs in NSW, it remains small enough to be a club that encourages all the family to be involved.
