Clontarf helps young men to attend school, finish Year 12 and enter employment.
Using supportive relationships, a welcoming environment and a diverse range of activities, the young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander men in our programme develop improved self-esteem and confidence which assists them to participate in education, employment and society in a positive way. Our approach has proven to be very successful, not only in attracting young men to school and keeping them there, but also in having them embrace more disciplined, purposeful and healthy lifestyles. The Smith Family is a national, independent children's charity helping disadvantaged Australians to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves.
One in six Australian children and young people living in poverty need our support to make the most of their education. The Smith Family delivers Learning for Life programs across 94 Australian communities, often out of the local school. The communities have been identified as having higher concentrations of families living in economic disadvantage and are across all Australian states and territories. As Australia’s largest national education-oriented charity, The Smith Family support disadvantaged Australian children to participate fully in their education, giving them the best chance at breaking the cycle of disadvantage. Their learning support and mentoring programs help children in need to fit in at school, keep up with their peers, and build aspirations for a better future for themselves. Investing in the education of a disadvantaged child delivers long-term positive benefits for them, their family and potentially generations to come. |

Today in Australia, blood cancer is a big problem. It’s one of the top 4 most frequently diagnosed cancers and is one of the leading causes of death by cancer in our country.
Every day another 41 Australians are told they have blood cancer (that’s one person every 36 minutes) and sadly 20 people will lose their life to blood cancer daily. Right now, more than 110,000 Australians are living with blood cancer or related disorders. |

The Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME) believes in an Australia where Indigenous children finish high school at the same rate as all Australian students.
AIME is an educational program that gives Indigenous high school students the skills, opportunities, belief and confidence to make this happen. By matching Indigenous high school students with university student mentors, AIME successfully supports the students to finish high school. AIME also connects students with post Year 12 opportunities, including further education and employment. AIME’s goal is to work with 10,000 Indigenous kids per year by 2018 and see them finish school at the same rate as every Australian child.
