2026 ​REGION 5 CHAMPIONSHIPS

Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th February 2026

​The Regional Championships are the next level of qualification in the pathway to the NSW State Championships. Athletes from our Zone (Northern Met) join athletes from the North East Met Zone.

Direct entry is to this event is now open.  Entries close Friday 16th January 2026 at 23:59

Please note, direct entry is only available for athletes in the 16s, 17s, Under 20 and all Para age groups.
Athletes in the 8-15s age group must have progressed from Zone to compete.

Athletes in 16s, 17s, Under 20 and all Para age groups must enter even if they competed at the Zone Championships. Please note there are no progression to state Championships in these age groups. You may enter the Junior Championships directly.

The following entry limits apply
  • Para 9's - 10's can choose up to 4 events
  • Para 11's - 12's can choose up to 5 events
  • Para 13's - 14's (U15) can choose up to 6 events
  • Para 15's - 16's (U17) can choose up to 6 events
  • 16's (U17) can choose up to 6 events
  • 17's (U18) can choose up to 6 events

In the 9s to 15s, the first two (2) places in each event will automatically qualify for the State Championships.  Other non-automatic qualifiers are determined by the eight (8) next best performances across the state from all region championships, Treloar Shield events and other NSW Permit level events.
