WALLY PAMPLIN AWARD
NRCLAC emphasises the importance of achieving personal bests, rather than winning events. As such, we have a perpetual trophy for the athlete who achieves the greatest number of PBs each season. The Wally Pamplin Award is one of our most prestigious trophies as it is awarded to the athlete who has consistently tried the hardest and made the most improvement over the season.
This award is presented to the athlete who has achieved the most number of new and equal PBs throughout the course of the season. In the event that athletes are tied, then a count-back will be done based on new PBs. If the athletes are still tied, then the decision will be refered to the committee for resolution.

Age Group Awards
To be eligible for these awards an athlete must meet a minimum attendance threshold. The thresholds are:
AGE CHAMPION & RUNNER-UP AGE CHAMPION
Awards are calculated as follows:
- Junior (U6-9) – 80%,
- Intermediate (U10-12) – 80%,
- Senior (U13-15) - 70%
- U17 – 60%
AGE CHAMPION & RUNNER-UP AGE CHAMPION
Awards are calculated as follows:
- Using the LANSW multi-event points table (similar to a decathlon point scoring table), an athlete scores multi-event points for each performance in each event that they compete in at a NRCLAC competition day.
- The athlete’s multi-event points from a competition day are totalled to give a weekly multi-event score.
- At the end of the season the athlete discards their lowest weekly multi-event scores, which are in excess of the relevant minimum attendance threshold. I.e., if the season consisted of 21 competition days and a junior athlete attended all 21 days during the season, they would be able to discard their worst 4 week’s multi-event scores. If the junior athlete only attended 18 days, then they would only have 1 week to discard. If they only attended 17 weeks, then all their weekly multi-event scores would count towards their season total. If they only attended 16 weeks then they would not meet the minimum attendance threshold and would not be eligible for this award.
- The weekly multi-event scores from the weeks that are required to meet the minimum attendance threshold (less any adjustment for non-championship days) are summed to give a season total for each athlete.
- The athlete with the highest total is the Age Champion. The athlete with the second highest total is the Runner-Up.
