Little Athletics is a sport that relies heavily on parent involvement. There's a lot to do and we need everyone's help.
PLEASE EXPECT TO:
We are a family club, and really want you to be involved, enjoy your child's achievements, and make new friends yourself.
PLEASE EXPECT TO:
- Be present the whole time your child is attending. You are not allowed to drop them and leave.
- Ensure your child(ren) have everything they need: correct uniform, water bottle, sunscreen, and hat.
- Be rostered on to help set-up the oval on a number of mornings through the season. This is a 7.25am start! Roster HERE.
- Help pack-up equipment at the end of every week.
- Help the group's Age Manager with running each event through the morning. Each Age Manager can issue up to four coloured vests to be worn by designated "helpers". Helpers are expected to actively take part in running each event by helping with:
- Crowd control for the group
- Raking long jump pits
- Spiking and measuring field events
- Retrieving implements
- Carrying the group's basket
- Be rostered on to a two-hour shift in the canteen. Roster HERE.
- Be rostered on to do a two to three-hour duty at Zone Championships (and Region, and State Championships if you make it through).

BUT DON'T GET IN THE WAY
Unfortunately, we have a very small oval for the number of athletes we have. This means you have to be extremely careful and alert to your surroundings to make sure you're not in anyone's way, particularly when moving between events.
PLEASE:
If you're just spectating, and not wearing a "helper" vest (actively helping the Age Manager run the event), we ask that you please stay off the oval and away from the area in front of the canteen. Please stay on the grassy hill, the upper level of the clubhouse, or behind the log fences surrounding the oval. The best way to stay close to the action is to actively help with the event.
PLEASE:
- Treat the running tracks as a busy highway. Look both ways and cross as quickly as possible.
- Treat the Long Jump / Triple Jump run-ups as a busy highway. Look both ways and cross as quickly as possible.
- Don't walk through the High Jump approach area.
- Keep clear of the "line of sight" between the Starters and the Timekeepers
- Take control of younger children to make sure they do the same.

ABOVE AND BEYOND
If you're enjoying spending time with new friends, and making a positive contribution to our community, you may want to get more involved.
