The current COVID-19 situation in Greater Sydney has provided many challenges for us as we look towards the 2021/2022 Little Athletics season.
REGISTRATIONS POSTPONED In light of the recent announcement of a further extension to the stay-at-home orders for Greater Sydney, LANSW have made the decision not to open registrations on the 30th August as previously advertised. No new opening date has been set, with LANSW opting to hold off on announcing any new date until there is confidence in a start date for the 2021/2022 athletics season. We will keep you up to date on any decisions as they are made. EXPRESSION OF INTEREST While we wait for registrations to open, we encourage you to register your interest in the upcoming season. You can do so by providing your details via the LANSW website HERE Don't forget to list North Rocks Carlingford as your preferred centre. KINGSDENE OVAL UPDATE As mentioned previously, Parramatta Council are building a new clubhouse at Kingsdene Oval (also known as Peggy Womersley Reserve). Further details and plans of the project can be found HERE. Following a number of delays, this project is now going ahead, with a commencement date set for mid-September and continuing through to at least March 2022. As a result of these construction works, it is unfeasible for us to use Kingsdene Oval for Saturday morning competition this coming season. Following liaison with Parramatta Council and Parramatta Little Athletics Centre, we will be holding Saturday competition for the 2021/2022 athletics season at Barton Park, Gladstone St, North Parramatta (see here for map). Wednesday and Thursday night training sessions will remain at Kingsdene Oval.
