2022/2023 - WEEK 2 Welcome to the 2022/2023 Little Athletics season. We look forward to another fantastic year. WEEK 2 - Saturday 24th September NB - This season, our Saturday morning competition will commence at Barton Park, Gladstone St, North Parramatta. See here for details. Athletes should meet their Age Manager at their first event.
We need help each week to set up. Parents are rostered to arrive early on 4-5 mornings through the season. Please come down before 7:25am to get your name marked off our list. CANTEEN ROSTER Each week we need a parent volunteer to help in the canteen from 10:00am - 12:00pm. This week's volunteer is to be provided by the 7 Girls. REGISTRATION PACK AND UNIFORM COLLECTION Saturday 24th September - 7:15am to 8:00am ONLY If you have not yet collected your registration pack or need to pick up or purchase a uniform, you can do this on Saturday morning before competition from 7:15-8:00am. Please note that both our Uniform Officer and Registrar are also Age Managers and will have other duties to fulfil from 8:00am. They will be available again following the morning's competition from about 11:00am. We thank you for your understanding. ** Please remember to bring your Working with Children Declaration Form - available here ** **New Members - Please remember to bring your child's proof of age (either Passport or Birth Certificate).** Registrations cannot be finalised until the above items have been received. Collection is available from Barton Park - Gladstone St, North Parramatta. WET WEATHER Should it be raining either on Saturday morning or in the days leading up to competition, the Committee will assess the field and competition conditions. We will either run a Wet Weather amended program or, if the weather is too bad, we may cancel competition for the day. If the decision is made to cancel, this information will be posted on both the Facebook and Instagram pages by 7:30am. So, keep an eye on these pages. If no announcement is made, then assume we are on! CANTEEN, BBQ AND COFFEE VAN The Coffee Van will again be present for that lovely morning hot beverage. The BBQ will be firing and the canteen will be open for cold drinks, sausage sandwiches and yummy snacks! WE NEED YOUR HELP Please remember that Little Athletics is run by volunteers and we need your help every Saturday to make it work & deliver a quality program. Each Age Manager requires the help of four parents to assist with the running of an age group. This involves raking the sand, retrieving the shot/discus in throws and assisting to marshal athletes at the finish line following running events both sprints and long distance. All these jobs are simple to do but are a huge help, making the morning run smoother and reducing the delay between events. If you see ANYTHING - on or off the field - that you can help with, please jump in and help. It will greatly appreciated. Please give your time generously to help with set up, pack up, timing and canteen shifts and helping out your age manager. Every little bit helps.UNIFORM Do you need a new competition singlet or crop top? Visit the online Uniform shop and pre-order your uniform for pick up. We also have some fabulous NRCLAC branded items available in the Uniform shop. Look great while you represent the club in our new training jacket or baseball cap or cool yourself down on a hot summer morning with our new NRCLAC cooling towel. Visit the Uniform shop here. Online orders preferred. REGISTRATION PATCHES Miriam will again be on site for collection of your sewn uniforms. NB - Please note that we have currently run out of Coles patches. LANSW is awaiting a delivery of new Coles patches and will forward them to us on receipt. We will let you know when these become available. If you are a returning member, we ask that you reuse your Coles patch from last season. VENUE Due to the delay in the completion of the new building at Kingsdene Oval, we will commence the 2022/2023 season at Barton Park, Gladstone St, North Parramatta. See map here. Important Dates: Zone Championships - 3rd/4th December 2022 (Barton Park) Region Championships - 4th/5th February 2023 (SOPAC) State Combined Events - 4th/5th March 2023 (NEW LOCATION - Dubbo) State Championships - 18th/19th March 2023 (SOPAC) (TBC) NB - These dates/locations may change should LANSW change their competition schedule WEEKLY TRAINING Wednesday night weekly fitness training has now commenced. Come down and join in some fitness training with Nicko. Kingsdene Oval (Felton Rd, Carlingford) - see map here Time: 5:30pm til dark Thursday night event-based training will commence next Thursday 29th September. Until daylight savings commences, training will start at 5:30pm and go through til dark. WHO DO YOU KNOW?
