COVID-19 SAFETY PLAN

Picture

season 2020/21 IS DIFFERENT

Dear NRCLAC Members and Families,

This information is provided for members to allow the safe return of Little Athletics. It is consistent with the New South Wales Government’s Return to Play Policy and Industry COVID Safe Plan. This information is accurate as of mid-August, but will be updated if there are any changes to the New South Wales Government’s advice.

NRCLAC is confident that, with the support of our athletes and families, we can continue to run a successful Little Athletics season during these unprecedented times. We greatly appreciate your ongoing support and cooperation.

Kind regards,

Fergus
NRCLAC President

WE'RE STARTING LATER

Our season is starting later than usual because Winter sport has been extended, and Council is not giving us access to Kingsdene Oval until October 17th.

We've delayed opening  registration to allow more time to see if public restrictions are tightening or relaxing, giving us time to make further adjustments if necessary.

COVID SAFETY COORDINATOR

Our nominated Covid Safety Coordinator is Fergus Tilt (President). Any queries or concerns regarding our COVID-19 Safety Plan can be directed to Fergus via info@nrclac.org.au

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

NRCLAC recommends the following to all athletes, families, and volunteers:
  • Download the COVIDSafe App and use as directed.
  • If you, or anyone in your direct contact, are feeling unwell with any potential COVID symptoms, please do not attend Little Athletics, stay at home, and contact your local GP. (List of symptoms HERE)
  • If you have travelled to, or transited through, a designated COVID "hotspot" in the last 14 days, please do not attend Little Athletics, stay at home, and contact your local GP. (List of hotspots HERE)
  • If you have had contact with someone with Coronavirus, or who has been tested as they are suspected of having Coronavirus, please do not attend Little Athletics, stay at home, and contact your local GP.

PHYSICAL DISTANCING

Physical distancing must be adhered to at all times.

Please help our community by:
  • All adults must observe 1.5m physical distancing
  • Avoid physical contact, including shaking hands, high fives, or hugging

NB: Physical distancing does not apply to competing athletes “on the field of play”.

HYGIENE & EQUIPMENT

Please help us by adopting good personal hygiene practices:
  • Use hand sanitiser before and after each event
  • Do not share water bottles
  • Please carry your own personal items (we will not be using group baskets)
  • We will wipe down equipment in-between each age group

500 PERSON LIMIT

We are restricted to a maximum of 500 people at Kingsdene Oval and its immediate surrounds at any one time, including athletes, officials, parents, helpers, and spectators.

As such, for Season 2020/21 we are:
  • Capping our membership at 400 athletes, on a "first-in" basis
  • Limit of 4 parent helpers to go around with each age group
  • Limit of one adult in attendance, per registered athlete (Committee and Officials excepted). Spectators must stay outside the oval boundary and maintain social distancing

CONTACT TRACING INFORMATION

Contact tracing information must be kept for all athletes, parents/carers, officials, committee members, spectators, and anyone else who attends the oval or surrounds for more than 15-minutes, and attendance information must be retained for 30 days.

To achieve this:
  • Athletes' details are recorded by ResultsHQ
  • Everyone else must record their full name and mobile phone number on a designated website (HERE), or by scanning a QR Code with the camera on a smartphone. Please follow the instructional signage at the oval
  • If you do not have a smartphone, you must record your details on paper with one of our COVID Safety Coordinators.
  • No exceptions. This applies to everyone who comes to Kingsdene Oval for at least 15-minutes.

GROUP SEPARATION

We need to eliminate interaction between our groups of athletes.

As such, we will:
  • Not meet for announcements in the morning. Groups will meet their Age Manager at their first event.
  • Groups are encouraged to stay closely together, but stay away from other groups.

What we believe will happen:
  • If someone in your group tests positive for COVID-19, all members of the group, and their families, will have to self-isolate for 14-days, AND have a confirmed negative COVID test.
  • If we can maintain physical separation between the groups, this will limit the number of people affected by a single positive test to just the members of a single group (and not all 500 of us).

CANTEEN & BBQ

Please maintain social distancing while queuing for the canteen.

Please maintain social distancing while queuing for the coffee van.

Unfortunately, we need to avoid congregating socially while at Little Athletics.

CHAMPIONSHIPS

Little Athletics NSW have already advised that there will not be State Relay Championships (November), Zone Championships (December),  or Region Championships (February) this season.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION : )
