your first saturday

Little Athletics is a family sport and NRCLAC relies on parent volunteers to deliver competition each week. Every person you see helping out is a volunteer who generously gives their time to support your children. We ask for a small contribution back from you throughout the season.

You don't need any athletics experience, and no one is expected to know everything from Day 1. If you're unsure, we'll show you what to do.

before you arrive

Arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled start time, and head to the meeting location advised by your Age Manager.

Don't forget to bring:

when you arrive

Look for your Age Manager — the volunteer responsible for guiding your child's age group through the competition program. They will welcome new families, explain how the morning works, take athletes to each event, and answer any questions.

If you're unsure where to go, your Age Manager is your first point of contact.

Kingsdene Oval has toilets, a canteen, BBQ, coffee van, and spectator areas for families.

MORE ON OUR FACILITIES

FIELD ACCESS

For the safety of our athletes, only athletes, officials and authorised volunteers are permitted on the competition field during events. On-field volunteers wear high-visibility vests so they can be easily identified.

Parents, carers and spectators must remain in the designated spectator areas unless undertaking an official volunteer duty. Athletes in Tiny Tots and the Multi Class group may be accompanied by a parent, carer or support person where appropriate.

WHAT PARENTS NEED TO KNOW

Little Athletics is a family sport and parent participation is part of how we operate. You won't be expected to know how athletics works on Day 1 — our volunteers will show you what to do and answer any questions.
